Welcome
2024/2025 Round-Up: A Year of Creativity and Discovery 🌟
The past academic year has been an inspiring and memorable journey, filled with creativity, new experiences, and hands-on learning.
Throughout the year, supported by the Lanyado Fund, students from the asylum and refugee communities were encouraged to explore their imagination, build confidence, and enjoy a wide range of engaging activities both in and beyond the classroom.
A major highlight was attending musical and dance productions, where students learned to observe staging, storytelling, and creative design. The Chickenshed pantomime production of Peter Pan was especially popular, offering a lively and accessible introduction to theatre and performance.
Creative workshops played a central role in the year’s activities. Students enjoyed card-making and bag decoration using buttons, experimenting with textures and personal designs. T-shirt tie-dye sessions brought colour and excitement, with everyone creating unique pieces to take home.
Students also connected with nature through a gardening project on the college grounds, successfully growing flowers and herbs while developing teamwork, patience, and a sense of achievement.
Trips and outings added to the excitement of the year. An ice-skating trip challenged students to try something new in a fun and supportive environment, while a seaside excursion provided fresh air, enjoyment, and inspiration for creative artwork.
The year concluded with pottery painting and firing, allowing students to explore traditional crafts and take pride in producing lasting pieces.
Overall, this was a vibrant year of creativity, learning, and shared experiences, leaving students with new skills, confidence, and lasting memories. 🎨
