Discovering Barnet

Plans are taking shape for an exciting expansion in Barnet for the 2026/27 academic year. The proposal outlines four projects in total, each delivered using the proven Lanyado BMSRMP “Train the Teacher” model, with a strong emphasis on parent involvement to maximise impact beyond the classroom.

With a budget of £2,500 per project, the initiative aims to work with Kisharon Tuffkid nursery, rated outstanding by Ofsted, two nursery linked schools and one family centre, targeting early years settings where support can make a meaningful difference. The focus is on nursery and reception-aged children, particularly in environments where the transition between these stages is crucial and where access to creative SEND enrichment is limited.

Apart from Kisharon Tuffkid, two high-potential partner schools have already been identified in Barnet—Brunswick Park Primary and Nursery School and St John’s CofE Primary School—both offering strong opportunities to support communication, emotional development, and school readiness through music-based learning.

To ensure efficiency and sustainability, delivery is proposed across the 2026/7 Autumn and Spring terms, allowing sessions to be clustered geographically. This approach supports both logistical practicality and financial viability, helping ensure the programme can be delivered consistently while reaching the children and families who will benefit most.
