Jewish Deaf Association

JDA is dedicated to supporting everyone who is deaf or hard of hearing – people of all faiths and none, at all stages of life. Saul’s father lost his hearing in his teens so the Lanyado Fund is especially proud of its support of

the JDA from the inception of our charity.

They are an independent, national charity offering professional support services, information and a range of social, cultural and educational programmes to the Deaf community, people with all levels of hearing loss, people experiencing Tinnitus, their friends, families and those caring for them.

To raise a deaf child is to have to learn about and embrace a whole new world.

Parents embark upon a journey that can feel treacherous and terrifying. It’s our job to guide them along their way and show them the joy that can follow…

  1. “…In supporting families long-term, we can ensure that Jewish deaf children grow up proud of their identity, confident as individuals and able to fulfill their potential, enabling each generation of JDA children to achieve their aspirations and flourish.” Jody, JDA Family Services.”
